Homer, Bart, and other members of the Simpsons family are in every episode. As a result, fans of these characters have some choice in the images and episodes they like best. Many characters such as Krusty the Clown, Mr. Burns, Apu and others only appear periodically, and fans of these characters have to act quickly to get the art they want! New original cels from The Simpsons are released three or four times per year. Be sure to join the Collectors Club for information on new releases and special offers for Simpsons fans!

The Simpsons is one of the last a cartoons to still use the techniques of classical animation. Almost all cartoons are now done with some degree of computer animation, but The Simpsons continues to utilize individually hand-painted cels, at least for now. In speaking with Simpsons creator Matt Groening in July 2002, he told us that the prohibitive costs of traditional animation are forcing the show to move away from cel animation.
